Services to Community and Faith Organizations…
School Partners and Tech Partners
As a part of School Partners, organizations will…
- Get exposure to funding opportunities;
- Learn about best practices in after school programming, such as:
- Creating a child friendly, text rich environment;
- Creating lessons that are age and grade appropriate to engage your students in fun academic enrichment activities;
- Connecting to fun on-line enrichment activities.
- Attend professional development sessions on classroom management, supporting and instructing students in math and reading, creating engaging academic enrichment activities, and other trainings aimed at helping your staff deliver the highest quality programming;
- Develop relationships with other afterschool program providers in the Pittsburgh area to share resources and best practices;
- Learn how to develop positive relationships with your school partners and how to use those relationships to better serve your students;
- Receive data collection tools and support;
- Learn about and receive support around the use of assessment to drive quality afterschool instruction;
- Engage parents in the education of their children; and
- Receive afterschool curriculum and assessments support
As a part of Tech Partners, organizations will receive…
- High speed Internet connectivity;
- Computer/Network assistance and training to ensure the computer labs of partner organizations are running in top condition;
- Labs of surplus computers, made freely available through our partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools, to organizations with community outreach or education programs;
- Remotely managed computer labs using administration software to temporarily take control of problematic computers and resolve a wide variety of problems from the confines of our office in East Liberty;
- E-mail, web-hosting, and off-site data backup services through connection to the Wireless Neighborhoods servers;
- On-site assistance when remote administration and telephone consultation are insufficient to the remedy the problem
